WHAT WE DO

Agriculture & NRM

Kripa Social Welfare Society has been working with farmers for many years, organizing facilitation meetings to encourage profitable, sustainable, and eco-friendly agricultural practices. In Kripa's target areas, traditional farming has almost vanished, with many farmers engaged in chemical, monoculture, and cash crops. However, Kripa's efforts have inspired some farmers to adopt partially traditional and organic farming methods. While Kripa doesn't claim extensive success, thousands of families have started cultivating vegetable gardens for their needs.

Kripa has formed 94 farmer groups, uniting 1,207 farmers to collaborate on natural resource management and agriculture through community mobilization. Their initiatives include water conservation, land development, organic farming, and promoting kitchen gardens and traditional farming, emphasizing food crops, vegetables, and mixed cropping.

The society provides training on traditional farming, forest-based resources, indigenous food, organic farming, climate-resilient agriculture, mixed cropping, tree plantation, and government agricultural schemes. Kripa envisions that its efforts will help small and marginalized farmers reduce poverty and hunger in rural areas, boost economic growth, and conserve natural resources. By promoting tree plantation and sustainable farming, Kripa aims to ensure access to fresh water, clean air, and healthy soil.
