WHAT WE DO

Women Empwmt. & Gender Eql.

Kripa Social Welfare Society serves the poor and marginalized, focusing on women and children in the community. Committed to empowering women with equal rights and opportunities, Kripa educates the community on the importance of gender equity. By forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Kripa organizes women to tackle issues like discrimination, economic disadvantage, and access to education, healthcare, new skills, and decision-making power.

Kripa offers training on topics such as rights, health, community-based organizations, Gram Sabha, financial literacy, micro-planning, good governance, government schemes, leadership, and public hearings. These SHGs not only unite women but also provide a platform for social, economic, political, educational, and technical empowerment.

Currently, Kripa has 955 SHGs with 11,875 women members. Regular monthly meetings and interactions help women develop confidence, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Effective SHG functions have encouraged saving habits, with members using their savings for housing, education, healthcare, agriculture, and income-generating activities. Increased unity and collaboration empower women to overcome challenges. In several villages, women actively participate in Gram Sabha and public hearings to drive village development.
