WHAT WE DO

Child Rights & Protection

Children are among the most vulnerable members of the community, especially in villages and slums where many are deprived of their fundamental rights. Issues such as child labor, child marriage, child begging, exploitation, school dropouts, and the need for care and protection are prevalent. Most community members in these areas are unaware of children's rights, prompting Kripa to take action.

Kripa works in villages and slums to educate and empower communities to safeguard children's rights. The organization provides services at both institutional and community levels to assist children and communities in addressing and preventing situations like exploitation, violence, abuse, and neglect. Kripa forms children's parliaments in villages and slums to organize and educate children on various topics, reducing their vulnerability to harmful situations and risks.

In the Ujjain district, Kripa offers services in Juvenile Justice Homes and runs non-formal schools for dropout children. It operates City Child Line Ujjain, City Child Line Agar-Malwa, and a railway help desk at Ujjain Railway Station to support children in need of care and protection. Kripa has established 196 children's parliaments, involving 4,518 children across its target areas. These parliaments help children develop communication, negotiation, sharing, and decision-making skills. In some villages, children have begun addressing their issues in collaboration with allied systems. Through Child Line, Kripa has served thousands of children in need, and non-formal schools have helped dropouts resume formal education. Additionally, skill development activities are offered to out-of-school youth.
